Cardamom

Description: It has a sweet, slightly spicy taste reminiscent of lemon. It is considered one of the most expensive spices in the world, alongside vanilla and saffron. In Sweden it is even more popular than cinnamon while in Arab countries they put it in coffee. It has therapeutic It properties, and in the old days they would say “Cardamom me”.


Uses: Try with chicken, meat, fish, vegetable soups and salads. In pastry cooking, it is used in Easter brioche.


Combinations: Combined with allspice, chilli, cinnamon, coriander, cumin, star anise, ginger, paprika, pepper and turmeric.
